Q. Tell us about your role at M&IW.
First off, I absolutely LOVE Meetings & Incentives Worldwide! I’ve been working at M&IW for seven years. My current role is Account Director, and I’m responsible for ensuring that our clients with M&IW are satisfied with our services and aware of all of the opportunities that are available to them to enhance their strategic programs. I love jumping into the strategy of our accounts, visualizing and defining the enhancements, and creating process flows. I also enjoy creating empowered teams that foster effective, and meaningful relationships with our clients.
Q. What do you value most about M&IW?
What I value most is our dynamic and magnetic culture at M&IW. The entrepreneurial essence that emanates at its core. This radiates throughout our company and with our clients in an invigorating way. Our clients truly feel the M&IW spirit with anyone they work within the company, and there is something very valuable about that.
Q. Share with our readers, what is Planners on Purpose?
Many years ago, I created a blog called Planitonapostit. It was a blog where I shared my thoughts on topics important to the events industry. This blog still exists, but I’ve recently changed my direction and my purpose. Hence, the name Planners on Purpose. It’s truly an overflow of my personal journey. This industry has made me tackle all aspects of my well-being. Yet, I’ve been able to come out of it with a renewed purpose and learning which I want to use to empower other planners so they can live their lives on purpose.
Q. Is it true you have also created a podcast and book club?
Yes, Planners on Purpose has a podcast and a book club. I really love to read and discuss all the things. Both the book club and podcast do just that. It may seem crazy that I would want to spend time doing these things after a full day of working, being a mom, and managing other hats, but it’s what makes me happy and shows how much I care about this industry.
Q. What advice would you give others who would like to create their own blog or website?
If you have a message that you would like to share with others, or a product or service that you feel will actually serve your audience well, then get it out there. The world needs your special message, your unique message that only you can deliver. Find a way to get your message out there, in the simplest and easy way, because sometimes the learning curve of the technology can hold us back. So my advice is to get it out there!
Q. Share a fun fact that most people do not know about you or something you enjoy in your free time.
Well, I’m sure many don’t know that I like to use my free time to blog, podcast, and run a book club! But I also enjoy playing music. I played the flute and have sung for many years, and I just enjoy singing in choirs, playing duets with my daughter, and enjoy playing in music ensembles and chamber orchestras.
